Training Course
Lockout/Tagout
is 2-3-hour course. This extremely
flexible program can help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state
regulatory requirements for training employees how to safely control all types
of hazardous energy at work.
Control
of Hazardous energy is the purpose of the Lockout-Tagout Program. This training
establishes the requirements for isolation of both kinetic and potential
electrical, chemical, thermal, hydraulic and pneumatic and gravitational energy
prior to equipment repair, adjustment or removal.
Lockout-Tagout
protects workers from these energy sources:
·
moving
machinery (kinetic)
·
stored
energy (potential)
·
electrical
·
chemical
·
thermal
·
hydraulic
·
gravitational
·
pneumatic
OSHA requires
employers to establish a program and use procedures for affixing appropriate
lockout devices or tagout devices to energy isolating devices, and to otherwise
disable machines or equipment to prevent unexpected energization, start up or
release of stored energy in order to prevent injury to employees.
