Training Course
Confined
Space Entry with Rescue is an 8-hour course.
Confined Space Entry without Rescue is also available and is 4-hours in
length. This extremely flexible program can help employers meet OSHA and other federal
and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to safely enter
and work around confined spaces at work.
Many workplaces
in general industry contain spaces that are considered to be confined because
their configurations hinder the activities of employees who must enter into,
work, and exit from them. Employees who
work in confined spaces frequently encounter increased risk of exposure to
serious physical injury from hazards such as entrapment, engulfment, and
hazardous atmospheric conditions.
Confinement itself may pose hazards such as restricted airflow or an
asphyxiating atmosphere that employees would not be exposed to in an open
workplace. This training provides
requirements for the practices and procedures to protect employees and all
contractors from the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces.
Entry into all
vessels, tanks, sumps, sewer manholes, pump pits or any other confined space
with limited or restricted egress and potential for hazards being present requires
a confined space permit. Spaces more
than 4 feet deep are generally considered confined spaces.
